DeAnne Reeder is a classical pianist and vocalist. She earned a BA in Music Performance, as well as Music Education, from Humboldt State University. Having performed extensively overseas and in her native California Bay Area, she is well versed in music of all styles. DeAnne has appeared in leading roles with assorted opera companies, as well as a soloist in symphonic performances, as a recitalist, and as a soloist for weddings and other events. She has also performed with a contemporary (pop music) a’cappella band, and as a pianist in classical chamber music ensembles.
DeAnne loves to share the wonder and joy of music with others. She taught private piano and voice lessons in a private studio in Sebastopol, CA, for twenty years. She also taught Kindergarten through Third Grade Music for a school district in Sonoma County. Her Renegade Christmas Carolers are a holiday treat for the community, during which she includes anyone who wants to join in the fun, teaches them to harmonize if they don’t already know how, and leads the group on caroling expeditions throughout the county every year since 2012.
As an experienced teacher, DeAnne enjoys customizing her approach to teaching music to whoever is working with her at that moment. She vows to keep it fun, and real, and inspiring. Her plan is to not only help each student learn to play and sing, but to also be the best they can be and to dare to reach for their dreams!
When she isn’t teaching and making music, DeAnne enjoys running ultra-marathons, back-packing, traveling and learning about other cultures, and spending time with her family.
