Becca is an artist, dancer and jewelry designer based in Northern California. She received her BFA emphasis in Painting and Drawing from Boise State University and Dance Minor. Through movement, she discovered the expressive power of the human form and sought to capture this in her artwork. Becca wanted to convey the idea that we are never truly stagnant; even in moments of physical stillness, there is the constant movement of our breath and the restlessness of our minds. This concept, that nothing in life is ever truly still, became a central theme in her artwork.
As an artist she specializes in using oils to convey human emotions. Her art focuses on the human figure in isolation, capturing moments of introspection and inner turmoil. Drawing inspiration from Rembrandt’s masterpieces and her background in dance, she uses dramatic lighting to highlight the human form.
Becca has experience in various styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, salsa, and Latin ballroom. She and her dance partner owned Idaho Latin Dance Co, where they taught private and group lessons in Latin ballroom and Salsa dancing. The company also hosted a weekly club night at a local venue for social dancing. Becca, her partner Tabish, and their team performed at events in Seattle, Portland, Alaska, and locally. She uses her background in dance to bring a unique perspective and depth to her artwork
In her jewelry designs, Becca utilizes raw and natural materials to reflect the essence of the human figure in its natural state. Each piece is crafted from repurposed vintage or found jewelry, resulting in a distinctive and elegant style that mirrors her own personal transformation. Becca views her jewelry designs as artistic creations, just like her paintings.
