I have undergone of formal study in the visual arts since high school, receiving education at Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community College, and Kendal School of Art and Design. Studies have included oil, watercolor and gouache painting, metalsmithing, ceramics, and weaving. You can view some of my artwork online at art_by_ladewig on Instagram.
My violin experience includes two year playing with Grand Rapids youth symphony, six summer at Blue Lake Fine arts camp Twin Lakes Michigan on a merit scholarship, and four years as my schools concertmaster. To me the use of the bow and developing good bow control and body posture are keys to excelling in this art form. Learning to play a instrument properly teaches one to make goals, work hard and see success.
