Mike  grew up in Los Angeles, CA. He got his first drum set at 12 years old. His favorite drummer at that time was Abe Cunningham of Sacramento’s nu metal band, Deftones. He joined his first band two years later, ever expanding his musical interests throughout high school and becoming aware and a fan of Billy Cobham, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Animal Collective and Radiohead. After high school he started a band with friends. In 2010, he enrolled at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Ca which is, really, the turning point in his drumming life. Going from garage bands to professional touring, studio and writing and working with artists over the next decade such as David Lee Roth, Keith Urban, Jaden Smith, ¿Téo?, Ryan Cabrera, Figs Vision, Mac Cosmetics, Magic Giant, Pretty Sister, Zach Tabori and MainMan. Throughout those years he took lessons with Gregg Bissonette while also teaching lessons to all levels of players, providing them with an energetic wisdom he experienced. Mike has a well rounded approach to cultivating creativity in the studio as well as the classroom  and expertise in applying linear drumming and electronic dance music rhythms to popular music. He now lives in Santa Rosa, CA. and teaches at Art & Soul School.
