Creating, for me, has always been a great way of self-expression, healing, and even therapy. While studying psychology at UC Davis, I studied visual arts and art history; refining my skills with oil painting, drawing, and printmaking. Portrait work is definitely my favorite type of art, and I love capturing emotion through facial expressions. I’m a huge advocate for using art and music as a way of healing and exploring the world, and I’m so thrilled to be at Art and Soul to share that with our students!
As for music, I was the little girl who played guitar until her fingers bled and snuck downstairs past her bedtime to play piano. Songwriting is something I’ve always used as a tool of expression through all stages of my life, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Knowing how much comfort music has given me throughout some of the most formative years of my life, I know how important it is to encourage it in children of all ages. From working in childcare and education for the last 4 years to being a lifelong creator, I feel so lucky that it’s brought me here.
“If you are lucky enough to find something that you love, and you have a shot at being good at it, don’t stop, don’t put it down.” -Taylor Swift
