Dancer
Teaches in: Sonoma County

Mia has over 16+ years of dance experience and training in various styles: Acro, Jazz, Hiphop, Contemporary, Poms, Lyrical, Modern, Ballroom, Tap and Ballet. Mia grew up dancing, drawing, singing, and playing instruments in her hometown in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Santa Rosa, California 9 years ago. Currently she is studying at the Santa Rosa Junior College, achieving a certificate in dance, communications, and journalism. Mia competed with Movement Lab for several years, competed with multiple projects by Ben Donner (Nebula), and is currently under the training of Kristen Daley, whose movement is inspired by her mentor Doug Elkins (both featured in New York Times Dance Critiques).

Along with dance, Mia is a self taught artist who expresses her art through different mediums: oil paints, oil pastilles, acrylic paint, pencils, paint markers, and more! In addition, Mia likes to involve three-dimensional elements, such as ceramics. Mia has 2 years of experience prior to Art & Soul teaching arts and crafts to young children ages 3-9. Mia is a self taught pianist, guitarist, and ukulele player as well. She is deeply inspired by all art forms and believes in pursuing what you love. I believe honouring each child’s unique imagination is what encourages confidence in the children’s capabilities and themselves simultaneously. Mia is passionate about teaching the proper foundations that will later become a building block for young dancers as they continue in their dance careers.
