Hawk

Hawk brings a warm, thoughtful, and creative approach to working with young students. A graduate of Sonoma State University, Hawk earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Queer Studies. Their background in psychology gives them a strong foundation for understanding how children learn, communicate, and experience the world—an especially valuable perspective when encouraging students to express themselves creatively.

Hawk has hands-on experience educating children from infancy through age 12 through their work as a Docent at the Museum of the American Indian. In this role, they implemented lesson plans and introduced children to cultural knowledge while adapting to different ages, personalities, and learning needs. Hawk was also responsible for creating visuals for new programs and developed a reputation for flexibility and quick problem-solving—skills that translate beautifully into a creative classroom environment.

As an Art Mentor, Hawk enjoys creating an environment where students feel comfortable exploring, experimenting, and developing their own creative voice. Their combination of experience with young children, educational programming, psychology, and visual creativity allows them to connect with students while encouraging curiosity and self-expression. Hawk is excited to help Art & Soul students build artistic skills, try new things, and most importantly, feel confident and proud of what they create. In addition, Hawk will be leading a ceramics program for one of our local schools!
