Teaches in: Sonoma County

Meet Jordan, a recent graduate of Santa Rosa High School’s Artquest program now attending SRJC. Jordan has been teaching at Art and Soul since she was 16, but don’t let her age fool you, as she is a highly trained dancer who travels to multiple counties for training. Jordan is currently competing and is on the SRJC Touring Dance Company. You might even have caught Jordan’s performance in the Nutcracker or in her first paid professional role of Fairy Worlds. Jordan started dancing at the age of 2, taking ballet, tap and hula privately. At the age of 7, she started training at Sebastopol Ballet where she excelled and went on pointe at 10 years old, landing the most sought after role, Clara, at 13. She auditioned for the highly prestigious Marin Dance Theatre where she continued her prima ballet training. Also, at the age of 7, she joined the Katherine Wheeler Dancers and quickly became a competitive team member. From the age of 10, Jordan became a competitive soloist in tap, jazz, and musical theater styles. At the age of 12 Jordan started training in Latin and Ballroom styles and has been coached with her partner by world champion dancers. Jordan was promoted to dance company at Santa Rosa High during her Freshman year, and became the president of NHSDA, a nationally recognized dance honors society, where she choreographed, taught masters classes and achieved honor status. In her senior year of high school, she took multiple titles all across Northern California. Jordan is also a skilled violinist, playing since the first grade and has recently taken up a love for singing. Jordan is most happy when she is dancing and sharing her passion with others. She hopes to instill a love of dance in each student while having fun and teaching proper technique. Jordan can’t wait to dance with you!
