Julie-Marie brings more than a decade of dance instruction, leadership, and mentorship experience to Art & Soul. She is passionate about creating a positive, encouraging environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and excited to grow—not just as a dancer, but as a confident individual. Her experience includes leading instructors, planning studio events, mentoring teaching staff, and helping students of all ages achieve their personal goals.
Before joining Art & Soul, Julie-Marie served as a Supervisor and Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor, where she coached instructors, organized events, and built lasting relationships with students and families. She also taught at Footloose Dance Center, developing personalized lesson plans while emphasizing proper technique, safety, posture, and confidence. In addition to her extensive ballroom background, she has experience with hip hop and enjoys bringing a variety of dance styles and movement techniques into her teaching.
Julie-Marie’s background in healthcare as a Certified Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide provides an added layer of care and attentiveness in the classroom. Her understanding of safety, body awareness, and individual needs helps create a supportive environment where students can build confidence while learning proper technique.
What excites Julie-Marie most about teaching is mentoring both students and instructors. Inspired by the teachers who encouraged her own journey, she strives to help every child discover their potential, celebrate their achievements, and enjoy the process of learning. She believes dance should be a place where children feel supported, families feel welcomed, and every student has the opportunity to shine. Her leadership philosophy centers on building confidence, celebrating progress, and fostering a strong, caring community.
Outside the studio, Julie-Marie is a devoted wife and mother of three children, giving her a deep appreciation for the trust parents place in their children’s mentors. She understands the importance of clear communication, consistency, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where young dancers can thrive.
