Tonea is a passionate artist and educator who loves encouraging creativity, self-expression, and confidence through art. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Sonoma State University, with an emphasis in oil painting, and has also studied ceramics extensively. Her love of working with clay even inspired her to create her own home ceramics setup, complete with a kiln and pottery wheel.
Tonea brings several years of hands-on teaching experience to her role as an Art Mentor. Since 2022, she has worked as a painting instructor and host with Paint the Town, guiding groups through the process of creating their own paintings step by step. She has taught groups ranging in size up to 100 participants, giving her valuable experience making art approachable, engaging, and fun for artists with different levels of experience.
In addition to painting and ceramics, Tonea has spent several years running her own online jewelry business, giving her an especially well-rounded creative background. She is passionate about art, personal expression, and creativity and enjoys helping students explore their own ideas while developing new artistic skills. Tonea is excited to bring her creativity, artistic knowledge, and enthusiasm for teaching to her students and to help each young artist feel proud of what they create.
